After the latest iOS 14 and Safari, Update Facebook Pixel tracking get less effective. Facebook officially recommends to set up Conversion API for your business. That because of data protection trend and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) That Privacy act got a massive impact on the tech world, setting up new rules and restriction for 3rd party cookies usage by websites.
Many businesses faced that their pixel can’t receive some purchase and other events if their client using iOS 14 of Safari. That trend for data protection already accepted by Google Chrome and other browsers. So in near future, you can lose up to 70% of all pixel events. That causes a dramatic performance drop in your conversion optimization campaigns. Your conversions might be much costly.
Solution for those problems is to set up data tracking on your website (server events), known as Facebook Conversion API. As you know now FB Pixel takes data from customer website browser (Safari, Chrome, Mozilla). Soon it will be banned. So you need to set up Conversion API tracking directly from your website/server. After that, your Pixel is again able to receive all pixel events. That’s scheme helps to understand the whole process of Server-side API.
The best options to set up Server side API now are:
- Integration services like Zapier, Integromat. The price depends on events number. (easiest and cheaper option)
- Google Tag Manager + Google Cloud
- Manually install code to the website.
